How far along: 30 Weeks 2 Days
Weight Gain/Loss: I am currently down 21 lbs.
Sleep: Hard. I am having contractions, cramps, getting huge, and have insomnia. Pretty sure my body is prepping me for the newborn :)
Best moment this week: Watching sweet Avery play during a non stress test ultrasound. She is so happy and active despite all the issues I am having with my body.
Food Cravings/ Aversions: Peanut Butter & Jelly mmmmm. As for Aversions, meat is totally freaking me out lately.
What I miss: Good sleep... not feeling like a zombie.
Stretch marks: No new ones, just ones from previous pregnancies.
Belly Button: Still in!
Wedding Rings: Still fit, actually is a little big.
Mood: Tired, and really anxious this week.
Labor Signs: I am actually dialted to a 1. I am not effaced at all, so that is good. But they are keeping an eye on that. I am having contractions very often. Some very very painful, some not bad.
Milestones: 30 Weeks. Only 10 more until due date. I have been told to plan on her being here no later then 7 weeks from now though.
Upcoming Appointments: Every Monday & Thursday with my OB, and every other Friday at Maternal Fetal Medicine.
What I Look Forward To: Patiently awaiting the end. I am in a lot of pain and very sick, so I am just counting days!
I spent last week in the hospital. I had caught a nasty stomach flu going around that was only suppose to last about 48 hours.... well, unfortunately, on day 5 of it my body couldn't take anymore and I was admitted into labor and delivery. Come to find out, I had critically low potassium levels. I, am not a medical genius, so I did not know how seriously that was. But, this is often why marathon runners die at the finish line, is because their potassium got too low. An ICU doctor came in to talk to me about it, and explained that they needed to monitor the baby while they gave me potassium via IV, but, if levels did not start to rise they would have to move me to the ICU. My blood pressure was very high since my body was in such distress, so they also did an EKG to check on my heart since your heart needs potassium to work correctly. Thankfully my levels did start to go back up. I needed 4 IV bags of potassium, 1 of magnesium, and 8 bags of electrolyte fluids to recover. I felt so much better once they got my body working correctly again. I am very thankful for medical staff, they were great.
